The Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre has issued a warning about moderate to rather heavy rainfall at isolated places across the State on Saturday, while there is light possibility of heavy rainfall at many places in Garhwal division in the next 36 hours. Uttarakhand received widespread moderate rainfall on Friday. Purola, Karnprayag, Uttarkashi, Munsiyari, Kotdwar and Ranikhet received moderate to rather heavy rainfall during the past 24 hours till 5.30 pm on Friday.
The Met office said that rainfall recorded till 8.30 pm on Friday was 50mm in Ranikhet, 14.2 mm in Kausani, 23mm in Chamoli, 35.8 mm in Karnprayag, 12mm in Banbasa, 12mm in Dehradun, 25mm in Kotdwar, 13mm in lansdowne, 9.4mm in Haridwar, 0.4 mm in Muketshwar, 32mm in Munsiyari, 13.8mm in Pantnagar, 9.4mm in Badkot, 10mm in Bhatwari, 12mm in Dunda, 88mm in Purola, 23mm in Uttarkashi and 5.6mm in Rishikesh. The maximum and minimum temperatures were 26.8°C and 22.9°C respectively in Dehradun on Friday. The weather forecast for Dehradun is generally cloudy sky and one or two spells of rain/thunder showers possible, may be moderate in some areas on Saturday.
