Members of Mussoorie winter line carnival organising panel told to ensure arrangements

The Dehradun district magistrate Ravinath Raman has directed members of the Mussoorie winter line carnival organising committee to ensure that all necessary arrangements are looked into for successful organisation of this event. The DM said this while chairing a meet of the committee for the carnival slated to be held in the last week of December as in past years.

Addressing the committee members and officials related to organisation of the winter line carnival, the district magistrate asked them to work on the arrangements for the finance, programmes to be organised, publicity of various events, various artistes to be invited for the carnival and payment for various services hired for the carnival. Raman directed the Mussoorie sub divisional magistrate Swati Bhadauriya to clear the comparatively small payments left to be cleared from last year’s carnival.

The DM formed an eight member committee comprising the four organising committee members and four officials and directed them to work in coordination to complete arrangements for various events, artistes, cultural and daily events, sports and aspects related to programme organisation. He said that this eight-member committee will decide the amount to be sought from various government departments, government and non-governmental organisations and inform the officials concerned. Publicity material containing information about the events to be organised and the artistes slated to perform should be printed and displayed in various towns and locations so that tourists can have detailed information about the Mussoorie winter line carnival. The next review meeting of the committee is slated to be held on September 29.

Mussoorie municipality chairman Manmohan Singh Mall, ADMs Pratap Singh Shah and Jharna Kamthan, Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) secretary Prakash Chandra Dumka,  assistant director, Information, BP Ghildiyal, regional tourism officer VS Gangvar, Mussoorie hotels association head S Sahni and officers concerned were among those present in the meeting on Tuesday.
