The Nainital superintendent of police (Crime and Traffic) Rachita Juyal presided over a meet with police personnel here on Tuesday. Juyal learnt of the problems faced by police women while on duty and directed the officers concerned to ensure redressal of these issues.
The opening of a day-care centre in the reserve police line here was recommended to take care of the kids of police women. This facility would enable police women to leave their children here while they go on duty.
Further, it was also decided that to encourage sportsman spirit in the police women, a volleyball team would be formed soon. This will enable the police women to participate in sports competitions. They were also encouraged to participate themselves and encourage their children to participate in the cultural programme to be held on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami. This is intended to boost the interest of the police women in cultural and other activities apart from their official duties. All the police personnel living in official quarters in the reserve police line were directed to keep their compounds clean and to desist from unnecessary garbage generation.
