In view of President Pranab Mukherjee’s scheduled Dehradun visit during which he would inaugurate a new building in Aashiyana complex (President’s residence) on Rajpur Road on July 10, a meeting was held in the city on Saturday to assign duties to the administrative and police officers to be deployed on the VVIP duty.
While addressing the security officers, additional director general of police (law and order) Ram Singh Meena said that police officers and personnel should understand their assigned duties and the places where they would be deployed.
IG (law and order) Deepam Seth said that police personnel would neither use mobile phones nor read newspaper or magazine while executing their duty. IG intelligence Ajay Prakash Anshuman said that each on the VVP duty should be extremely vigilant. District Magistrate SA Murugeshan said that district administration officers and police administration officers should coordinate among themselves. SSP Nivedita Kukreti said that all the security related preparations have been completed. Among others present on the occasion were Garhwal Range DIG Pushpak Jyoti and SSP Tehri Vimla Gunjyal.
