The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) sealed the under-construction Pacific Hills apartments for violation of setback norms in Dehradun on Wednesday. The authority had earlier decided to seal the apartments on Monday for violation but this could not be done since the State Government had declared a three-day State mourning following the demise of Cabinet Minister Surendra Rakesh.
The MDDA team reached the apartments on Wednesday morning after a fresh sealing order was issued but they were unable to execute the order in absence of police force. The building was sealed after the police force reached the site. The apartments being constructed at Mussoorie diversion, have elicited controversy for encroachment on municipal land.
Harak Singh Rawat was also allegedly transferred from the post of the Mukhya Nagar Adhikari due to political interference following the action taken earlier by MCD.
