Registration has been opened for the High Income Group (HIG) housing scheme of the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) near the ISBT in Dehradun. The registration forms will be available at select banks till November 20. Additionally, the Middle Income Group (MIG) flats of the MDDA in Transport Nagar extension have also been opened for registration.
According to the MDDA, the HIG flats are divided in to A and B categories. The A category flat comprises three bedroom, hall, kitchen, servant room with attached toilet and balcony with a covered area of 1340 square feet and super area of 1438 square feet. The cost of one type A flat is about Rs 65 lakh. On the other hand, the type B flat will also comprise the three bedroom, hall, servant room with toilet, kitchen and a terrace with a covered area of 1340 square feet and super area of 1595 square feet. The cost of the type B flats of which there are 34 will be about Rs 72 lakh. The HIG building compound will also include various other facilities including a swimming pool, game/activity room, health club and gymnasium, Yoga and recreational area, café lounge, departmental store and green area. The flats, expected to be ready within two years are located next to the proposed Personal Rapid Transit System (PRTS) junction. Officials point out that in such a location, a similarly constructed apartment built by a private builder would have cost much more than the price at which it is being offered. The forms for the 338 HIG flats will be available for Rs 570 each till November 20 at select bank branches in the city. Meanwhile, the registration has also been started for the 60 Middle Income Group (MIG) flats each costing about Rs 45 lakh in the Transport Nagar extension.
