The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority board has fixed the cost of flats to be constructed for the general public and those to be relocated from along the banks of the Rispana and Bindal rivers as part of the river front development project. In the 88th MDDA board meeting held here on Thursday, the board approved Rs five lakh and Rs 10 lakh as the cost of the economically weaker section (EWS) and lower income group (lIG) flats respectively.
These flats will be constructed for the general public at AmwalaTarla and at Transport Nagar for families to be relocated from slums along Rispana and Bindal under the river front development project. In order to make the EWS and lIG project in Transport Nagar viable, 1619 square metre land of the municipal corporation of Dehradun here will be purchased at the circle rate for construction of flats for middle income group (MIG).
The entire area of Indira market, old bus stand and MDDA's parking totaling to 1222 square metres will be included in the Indira market re-development project after transfer.
Of the 3.65 hectare land remaining after construction of affordable housing on the land acquired for the ISBT, 1.95 hectare will be used for the Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) project in public private partnership mode while 1.7 hectare land will be used for housing project for high income group (HIG).
It was also decided that a base map of 17 villages under the MDDA area will be prepared after physical survey. Other points on the agenda approved by the board included the application for building map approval for a hotel at Mauja Paundha, Pachwadoon and in Mauja Ajabpur Khurd in Dehradun among other issues.
