In order to remind and keep the property tax payers informed about the pending money, amount paid and time left for payment, the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun is planning to start a bulk SMS generator service soon.
Dehradun municipal commissioner Vinay Sankar Pandey on Monday said that the service will work as a reminder for the people to pay the property tax on time or before time.
This will be more convenient for the officials and payers as well.
Pandey said, “We are capable of receiving the property tax online from 55 wards. The remaining wards will also be brought under the ambit of this service soon. We are planning to take help of the bulk SMS generators to keep in touch with the payers about all the details and current status of their bills. This has not been used so far but it will work now.” Adding more in this he said, “The service will work in three steps starting with the tax payers being informed of their payment status, the second will be informing them about their pending time and third will be sending notices as we use to do earlier. This is expected to help us more in keeping things convenient.”
