The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun’s (MCD) drive to remove the construction material and debris from the main roads is moving swiftly.
Penalties have been imposed on a total of 21 people/institutions by the MCD. A sum of Rs 44,500 was collected in penalty from eight people out of 21 on Monday.
Other than this the MCD imposed penalties on 13 people/institutions where it collected three trolleys of debris and construction material from the roads.
The dressing of the roads from where the debris and material was collected was done by the MCD. The ongoing drive of the MCD to collect debris and construction material is being conducted after recognising the grave repercussions of debris and material laid on the main roads. The construction material is creating a fuss for the daily commuters and also disrupts the traffic.
The municipal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey requested the public not to keep any construction material and debris on the roads. He also requested the public to inform the MCD if any kind of construction material is found outside buildings which are being constructed or renovated.
Citizens can contact the MCD by calling or through the medium of Swachchhta application MOHUA. The number on which complainants can call is 8047097506.
