The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) will let those taxpayers, who arrive late in its premises to deposit the property tax from now on if the counter does not have any other taxpayer. According to the officials, 100 tokens are issued every day to 100 taxpayers and no more tokens are issued for the same day but still many people arrive late to deposit the property tax and appear to be unaware of the token system.

Therefore, if the tax submitting counter doesn’t have any taxpayer, such taxpayers can deposit their taxes. Meanwhile, the rebate of 20 per cent for the property taxpayers of the last year is likely to end on July 15 and so far the MCD has collected about Rs one crore since April for the year 2020-2021, as informed by municipal tax superintendent Poonam Rawat.
