Commuters, including pedestrians and occasional visitors, faced a harrowing time as vehicular traffic on the Haldwani-Nainital national highway remained disrupted repeatedly due to polling for the students’ elections of the MBPG College located on the aforesaid national highway on Tuesday. The college building is located close along the Haldwani-Nainital highway. Therefore, disruptions of traffic movement were much on the expected lines following arrival of students at regular intervals to cast their votes crossing the same road. More so, movements of occasional visitors and locals along this aforesaid road stretch only hampered the smooth flow of the vehicular traffic on this important national highway. Though the Haldwani police personnel were busy in disbursing the crowd gathering alongside the national highway to smoothen the movements of the vehicles, motorists and the pedestrians could be seen facing a tough time to get a pass to reach their destinations on time.
