Thirty pilgrims under Mere Buzurg Mere Teerth (MBMT) scheme left for Badrinath from Bageshwar on Monday. The batch of 30 pilgrims, including 14 women, left after  the  district magistrate, Bageshwar, BS Manral and the  chairman of the District Panchayat, Bageshwar, HS Aaithani flagged it off from  Bageshwar tehsil campus. Mention worthy, this is a four- day- long pilgrimage that has begun last year at the behest of the State Government.

It is meant to facilitate the senior citizens above 65 years of age to go on a free of cost pilgrimage. The pilgrims would stay at Kaleshwar on May 18 while they would reach Badrinath Dham the following day, said the Bageshwar district administration officials. Similarly, starting their return journey from the Badrinath Dham on the third day of their pilgrimage, they would stay at Kaleshwar on May 20 on their way back to Bageshwar  and the pilgrimage would end  there on  May 21, added the officials.
