The benefit of reservations in Government jobs would be abolished if Narendra Modi-led BJP Government assumes power at the Centre. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati made this apprehension at her rallies in Uttarakhand on Friday. Mayawati addressed impressive rallies at Roorkee and Rudrapur and called upon people to vote for BSP candidates so that a daughter of the Dalit community can become Prime Minister of the country.
The BSP supremo arrived about 1.30 hours behind schedule at litho Press ground of Roorkee. The BSP supporters gathered in large numbers at the venue despite scorching heat. In her address, Mayawati lashed at both BJP and Congress for ruining the nation. She said that common people of the country are reeling under uncontrolled price rise and rampant corruption. Mayawati said that Narendra Modi will not become Prime Minister of the country, but also warned that if he somehow succeeds in becoming PM, then the benefit of reservations would be abolished.
She said that Muslim community was used as a vote bank by the Congress party, but the community got nothing from the Congress. Terming Yog Guru Ramdev as a BJP leader, she took strong exception of his remark on Dalit community.
Mayawati blamed the social welfare minister Surendra Rakesh and leader of BSP legislatures in assembly Haridas for hobnobbing with Congress and damaging the party. She said that these leaders were expelled for anti-party activities. The BSP leader said that both Rakesh and Haridas would not be given party tickets. She also termed the State Congress Government as a total failure and said that BSP could withdraw its support to the Congress in Uttarakhand.
Mayawati also addressed a rally at Rudrapur which falls in Nainital-Udhamsingh Nagar lok Sabha constituency. She asked people to vote for party candidate laique Ahmed and send a highly qualified person like him to parliament.
