Swami Shivanand of Matri Sadan has slammed the State Government for its failure to stop illegal mining being done by the contractors across the State.
He said that State Government’s writ has ceased running in the State with corrupt bureaucrats and mafias calling the shots.
He said that in spite of repeated orders from the court and senior officials, illegal mining is continuing unhindered.
He said he would soon write an open letter to the Chief Minister Harish Rawat over the issue and would forward it to the Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Swami Shivanand blamed Illegal Mining Prevention Vigilance Unit (IMPVN) for the continuance of a few leases on mining despite the pertinent High Court order.
