With start of marriage season, Dehradun SSP Sadanand Date held a meeting with the owners of wedding points and hotels on Tuesday and gave them necessary instructions to avoid any public inconvenience.
Owners were directed to ensure that liquor will not be served in their hotels. Bursting of fire crackers should not be allowed at public place or roads. No one should drive vehicles in intoxicated state. Suspected persons should not be allowed at marriage venue. Music system should not be allowed to blast after 10 pm. Celebratory firing should not be allowed.
CCTV cameras should be installed to strengthen security at marriage venue. The permission should be sought for marriage procession on main road or public place from the district police. Fire safety equipments should be installed at marriage venue. All the vehicles should be parked at parking space. A guard should be appointed there, he added. Date said that action will be taken against the owners if they fail to implement the directives.
