Many docs set to resign

Published on:

The transfer of doctors has triggered the possibility of resignations of many doctors from State health services. Some transferred doctors have already started efforts for cancellation of their transfer orders and are determined to bid adieu to Government job if  the orders are not reversed.

Ironically, every transfer list in past has resulted in exodus of doctors from the State health services and the hospitals located in mountainous districts have always been at the receiving end. Doctors transferred prefer to take voluntary retirement from service. One observer pointed out that the State Government’s failure to control private practice of doctors and failure to implement a transparent transfer policy is the basic reason for absence of doctors in hospitals located in mountainous areas.
