In connection with forcible closure of Mansadevi temple on the occasion of Navratra, Haridwar police have registered a case against Rajendra Giri, trustee of Mansadevi temple and other priests on Monday.
Haridwar SP City SS Panwar said that taking cognisance of a complaint registered by local leader and social worker, JP Badoni under section 296 of IPC, police registered a case against Rajendra Giri and other priests in Kotwali police station. Teams have been formed and they are investigating the case, he added.
Sources said the Mansadevi temple priest forcibly closed the temple when administration enforced HC order to receive devotees’ donation only on receipt.
