On Monday night a resident of Gujarat allegedly committed suicide by jumping from third floor of an Ashram building after being caught by Gujarat Police. The youth had reportedly eloped with his minor girlfriend and her friend.
It is learnt that the youth had reached Haridwar on April 5 and was staying in a Dharmshala. The police reached with the relatives of the minor girl following surveillance of the mobile phone and found the trio on Monday. However, since no train was available at night the three came to Chintamani Ashram to stay from where the youth was found dead after jumping from the third floor of the Ashram.
While the Haridwar police are saying that they were not given any information by Gujarat Police, the probe is on. The deceased has been identified as Munmuntha, a resident of Dwarka in Gujarat, the police said.
The family members of the minor said that they had reached Haridwar on Friday and since then were looking for their girl and the boy. Through surveillance police caught hold of Munmuntha on Monday. The three had stayed in different rooms. The girl had gone missing from her home on April 5 and had come to Haridwar. The case was registered by parents of the girl in Gujarat.
