An inebriated person allegedly tried to molest a girl outside the Cross Roads Mall in Dehradun on Friday evening. Interestingly, the accused came to the mall in SDM City's vehicle. The police arrived but they were trying to pacify the mob. The footage of the CCTVs at the Cross Road Mall could provide the proof, it is said.
As a young couple was standing outside the mall the accused, who was in an inebriated state, allegedly came near and started molesting the girl. Seeing this her male friend resisted, then the person started beating the girl's friend and when people opposed the accused introduced himself as the SDM City and said that he has full right to beat anyone. Meanwhile, the girl informed her other friends and a few people reached the spot before police arrived.
They had made desperate calls to the police for half an hour but the police, which claims that they responded to the call within a few minutes, reached after half an hour. It appeared they were deterred by the high profile involvement. The girl's friend, who had jumped on the bonnet of the vehicle, asked the police to lodge FIR but they did not.
