Kotdwar police arrested a person identified as Riyasuddin on the charge of molesting a four-and-half year old child after a case was registered under Section 354, 354 (b) of Indian Penal Code and section 5/6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on Tuesday.
The alleged molestation of a minor in Kotdwar coming close on the heels of an alleged rape case from Pauri involving a four-year-old girl has left the people of the district concerned.
CO police, Kotdwar J R Joshi said that the case in connection with which a person has been arrested is one of molestation and not rape.
He further informed that the accused Riyasuddin is a barber based in Kotdwar.
