Doda Manjhi, a native of Betia, Bihar, has accused the Bhotiya Parao police outpost (Haldwani) of not registering a case in which his 14-year-old son was allegedly crushed to death by a private bus on March 23. Manjhi works here as a labourer with his family. His 14 year old son Mukesh who was crushed to death allegedly by a private bus as Manjhi alleged, used to work here at a shop at Haldwani’s Rajpura area.
Manjhi allegedly said, his son Mukesh was sleeping outside the shop, near Dharmakanta crossing in Haldwani’s Rajpura area. Meanwhile, a private bus crushed his son to death on March 23 night.
Since then, we have been pursuing the matter with the police concerned of the Haldwani’s Bhotiya Parao outpost. But the police concerned is not listening to us, alleged Manjhi. So we have not received any compensation so far, Manjhi further said.
Meanwhile, when contacted M C Pandey, in-charge of the Bhotiya Parao police outpost maintained that a case has already been registered in connection with this matter.
