During the campaign being conducted by district police against drugs and alcohol abuse, a person was arrested on Sunday with 623 capsules of prescription drug. According to the information provided by the police, the accused used to transport the drugs from Saharanpur and sell it in Dehradun at higher price.
The accused has been identified as Umeet Singh (42), resident of Tyagi Road Lakkhibagh.
During police interrogation the accused said that he is unemployed from a long time and was trying to find a way to earn easy money. He used to buy these drugs at low price and then sell it to youngsters and others in Dehradun at higher rates.
The accused was booked under the section 8/22 of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and was presented in the court on Monday.
