In a case of alleged double murder in which the victims were burned alive by their friend using a gas leak explosion in Chorkandi village of Pauri district, the revenue police have detained one accused who was being interrogated till the time of this report being filed.
The deceased have been identified as Dheeraj Singh (42) and Roop Singh (45) while the accused is Ajit Singh from the same village.
According to Nayab Tehsildar of Pauri, Rampal Singh, "As per the allegations of the deceased Roop Singh's wife it was Ajit who deliberately killed the other two. We have the accused in custody.
The bodies have been sent for post mortem and after that they will be handed over to the families. Investigation in the case is ongoing."Giving for the details about the case he said, "It is hard to say anything right now as the accused has not said anything concrete as of now. We are still interrogating him. According to the information provided by the neighbours all three of them came on the same motor bike late in the evening and drank together also. We found the bodies in the kitchen. The incident might have happened between 1:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.” According to the sources, the wife of Roop Singh found the bodies on Tuesday morning when she went looking for her husband.
The two deceased and the accused used to hang out together often and had no ongoing dispute. Police are waiting for the post mortem report to have further leads in the case.
