Going full throttle in his attack against the Chief Minister and the Congress candidate from Haridwar Rural seat Harish Rawat while addressing a rally on Kali mandir grounds in laldhang on Wednesday, the BJP MP from Garhwal and former Chief Minister Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri asked the voters to see to it that the CM’s security deposit is forfeited.
He said that the CM should be made to face the consequences for leading a corrupt Government. Dubbing the contest here as a fight between the honest and the corrupt, the senior BJP leader appealed to the voters to opt for the honest candidate, meaning the BJP nominee.
He alleged that being neck-deep in corruption, the government under chief minister Harish Rawat has remained engaged in looting the state at the public's expense. “All the well-intentioned projects initiated during my regime were scrapped by the Harish Rawat government with an ulterior motive,” he averred, asking the voters to cast votes, comparing the works done by his government and those done during the present regime.
lauding the demonetisation move, the BJP veteran said that the hoarders of the unaccounted-for cash were at the receiving end of the monumental exercise. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unsparing even towards his own party men involved in corruption,” he said.
The BJP candidate and sitting MlA from Haridwar Rural, Swami Yateeshwaranand averred that he has always been with the people of the constituency, sharing their joys and sorrows, for the past five years. “I have full faith in them and I am sure that this time too they would not disappoint me.”
