Uttarakhand BJP in-charge Shyam Jaju said that the party’s Parivartan Yatra, slated to take off on November 13, would further steel the resolve of the people to usher in the much-awaited change in the State, steeped into corruption-tainted misrule of the Congress. He also asked the party rank and file to exert themselves fully to make the yatra a resounding success. He said this after addressing a joint delegation of the State BJP officer-bearers, district in-charges, district presidents, general secretaries and conveners of Assembly constituencies on Thursday. Stressing that the people of Uttarakhand are yearning for a change and looking up to BJP to usher it in, he said that the party leaders and activists should not be found wanting to rise up to the people’s soaring expectations.
He said that things crystallizing fast in favour of the party, they must show that theirs is a disciplined party wedded to an ideology. “We must get into the right gear right now to counter the vicious anti-BJP propaganda blitz being unleashed by the ruling Congress. There is no room for self-complacency,” the state BJP in-charge warned.
State BJP president Ajay Bhatt echoed the same view, saying that the people having already made up their minds to depose the Congress government have been ascertained through the surveys made so far. “But we should not be carried away by this. We must exert ourselves fully to make what the surveys are saying a reality,” he added.
Former MP Balraj Passi explained the route chart the upcoming Parivartan Yatra would follow.
The meeting was attended among others by the state BJP vice president Jyoti Gairola, general secretaries Naresh Bansal and Khajan Das and Garhwal convener of the yatra Vinod Chamoli.
