The power supplies in many localities of the city would be affected on Tuesday due to the maintenance works in the 33 KV Kaulagarh sub station. The residents of Kaulagarh, Prempur Mafi, Garhi, Bajawala, Mansarwala , GMS Road, Rajendra Nagar, Vijay Park and Chakrata Road areas would face problems as the UPCl would undertake a power cut from 11 am to 4 pm on Tuesday.
The Spokesperson of Uttarakhand Power Corporation limited (UPCl) Madhusudan said that due to the lopping of branches on the 33 KV Bindal- Kaulagarh line and for works on the new HT/lT line which fall under the Patel Nagar road subdivision the power supplies would be affected.
The power production in the 90 Mega Watt (MW) Maneri- Bhali Phase I hydro power station was affected by the essential maintenance works on Monday. On Monday the production from this power plant was 60 MW which is lower than its capacity of 90 MWs. Madhusudan said that the power supply in the state from all sources on Monday was 33.16 Million Units (MU) as compared to a demand of 33.38 MUs.
