To show the mirror to China’s expansionist policy through the Ramayana, the State’s Tourism and Culture minister Satpal Maharaj has sent a copy of the ancient epic to the Chinese president Xi Jinping. He has asked the Chinese president to learn a lesson from the damage caused by Ravan’s expansionist mentality.
Addressing the media here on Tuesday, Maharaj said that the manner in which the Chinese soldiers guided by their expansionist policy attacked unarmed Indian soldiers in Galwan valley is strongly condemnable.
“By sending the Ramayana to the Chinese president, I want to send him a message about what happened to Ravan due to his expansionist mentality. I want to tell Jinping that an expansionist person or nation never thrives. I hope that the Chinese president will learn from the Ramayana and take a lesson from the fate that befell Ravan. The Ramayana also tells about the end which awaits an expansionist person. I also want to tell China that the considerable amount of money it is spending on strengthening its armed forces should be spent on prevention of the disease which has afflicted the whole world today,” said Maharaj.
The Minister added India has never pursued an expansionist ideology. Even after winning Bangladesh, India had given up its right on that land. On the other hand, China has pursued expansionism since the beginning and has also taken over Tibet. “I am sending the Ramayana to Xi Jinping so that he understands how damaging expansionism is for him,” said the minister.
