Mahanagar Congress Committee is planning to send its activists in a good number for the proposed Jan Akrosh rally at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on April 29. The city-based Congress leaders said that the activists would leave for Delhi at 4 am on Sunday to reach the venue of the rally at the right time. It would be Rahul Gandhi’s maiden rally after he assumed charge as the national president of the party.
The convener of the meeting Vijay Saraswat said that the party activists here are very excited over the rally. “They would attend it in good number. We are sure that the rally which must be a mammoth one would ring the warning bell for BJP which won the lok Sabha election and the Assembly election here while taking the people for a ride. It would definitely mark the beginning of the end of the saffron rule,” he said.
Another local Congress leader Sanjay Paliwal said that 100 busses would ferry the common people from here to the rally. “However, the party’s office bearers would go on their own,” he said, adding that the people of Uttarakhand are fuming in anger against the double engine Government which is a total failure.
A leader of the party’s women wing Santosh Chauhan said that the party workers were busy now readying the banners and placards which they would carry to the rally. “What are written on them reflect the anger of the common people,” she said.
