Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha activists torched Chinese goods at lansdowne Chowk on Wednesday to vent anger against China allegedly dabbling in the continuing Indo-Pakistan crisis to tilt things in Pakistan’s favour.
They urged the people to desist from buying China-made goods to show solidarity with the armed forces fighting terror on the border instigated by Pakistan emboldened by China’s anti-India posturing.
The protesters warned that they will intensify their stir in the coming days against sale of Chinese goods in the markets.
While addressing the gathering, Mahanagar president Shyam Pant Pant said that they would make the people aware of the fact that buying Chinese goods would further bolster Pakistan to unleash terror on the people of the country.
“We are in thick of an awareness campaign involving the students of schools and colleges, urging them to desist from purchasing such items with the profit from such sales going to fund terror. We are also asking the traders to refrain from selling such items to show solidarity with the armed forces engaged in a grim battle against terror. The response is good,” he said.
Other speakers stressed on the fact that Chinese goods flooding the Indian market tagged as made in India are cheating the people of the country. “Chinese economy is getting stronger at the expense of the Indian economy by such voluminous sales of the Chinese goods. We must be wary lest we unwittingly boost terror,” said another leader of the youth affiliate of the saffron party.
