local students’ activist group, Making a Difference by Being the Difference (MAD) completed its 22nd wall mural in Dehradun on Sunday. The group has already painted stretches of walls near Mussoorie Diversion, Jakhan, Nashvilla Road, Old Survey Road and near the Railway Station among other locations.

More than 15 volunteers participated in this activity held at Subhash Road opposite the State Bank of India on Sunday. A volunteer said, “The wall chosen for the transformation was urine drenched and not exactly the best canvas since it was an uneven brick wall- which made it very difficult to paint on. It took us more effort to whitewash the wall in the first place.”

The activity commenced early morning and continued till afternoon. “We might not be the best painters but we are concerned for the environment and shall continue with such activities,” said MAD member Saurabh Nautiyal.

The activity involved cleaning the wall, cleaning the surroundings and then painting a stretch of the wall. Those who participated in the activity included Prashant Ritika, Vaishali, Shivani, Saurav, Ankit, Satvik, Shailja, Shivani, Saachi, Parthvi, Srishti, Gagan and Shardul among others.
