MAD paints shabby wall, spreads clean message

oon-based student’s activist group, Making a Difference by Being the Difference (MAD), has transformed another wall in Dehradun. They have already transformed shabby stretches of walls near Neshvilla, Subhash Road, Jakhan, Bhandari Bagh and Old Survey Road, near the Railway Station. Over 30 volunteers participated. The team first gathered and cleaned the wall where the paintings were to be drawn. This was done because the walls were greased and were being used as open public urinals.

MAD, with all its members belonging to the age group of 15 to 23, has been organising such activities through its own money. The team created a painting on the shabby stretch of the wall, conveying a message for keeping localities clean and green. “We will continue with the campaign in the coming days and will try to improve every wall with our messages,” said founder and chairperson, MAD, Abhijay Negi. Those who participated included Saurabh Nautiyal, Manvenddra Rawat, Alok Bhatt, Sayyed Manzer Imam and Shardul Singh Rana.
