lT jobless youth marching to CM house detained

The members of the association of lT examination passed unemployed youths were arrested when they attempted to organise a march to the residence of state Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Friday. The association is demanding 25 percent increase in the number of vacancies in lecturer Teacher (lT) examination the result of which was recently released.

On Friday the members of the association gathered at the protest site near parade ground in large numbers and held a protest meeting. The association later gave a call for a March to the residence of state Chief Minister Harish Rawat. Their intention was however foiled by the policemen who were present at the protest site in sufficient

numbers.

The members of the association were arrested as soon as they left the protest site. After a minor scuffle, the police arrested the unemployed youths and took them to the police line. The arrested youths were later released by the police. A delegation of the association had met Harish Rawat on Thursday but the talks failed to yield any result.

The State President of the association, Virendra Gairola blamed the State Government for ignoring the justified demand of the unemployed youths. He said that the large numbers of posts of lT are lying vacant in the government schools of the State and by increasing the number of posts in the current recruitment drive the State Government would do a justice to the aspirations of qualified youths and the future of the

students.

He threatened that the association would intensify its agitation now as the unemployed are fed up with the pathetic attitude of the State Government.
