The wait in most cases drags on for hours till late afternoon.

Meanwhile, as the Aadhar Card preparation process is on the district administration, Nainital, has appealed to the people to get the aforesaid cards free of cost in the district.

The Aadhaar Cards are being prepared by different agencies authorised by the Government of India, both in rural and urban areas of the district, said the officials concerned of the Nainital district administration.

An applicant will have to provide voter identity card, PAN card or ration card along with an application form to get the Aadhaar card prepared, added the officials.

Besides, finger prints and photographs of the applicants are also being recorded online to prepare the Aadhaar cards, they informed.

It is also learnt that the Nainital district administration has taken reports of the applicants being asked to cough up money for the Aadhaar

cards seriously.

In case any agency demands money for preparing the Aadhaar cards, necessary action will be taken against the agency, asserted the  Nainital district administration officials, urging the applicants to take up such matters immediately with the respective SDMs.
