Uttarakhand State Soldiers’ Welfare Parishad’s senior vice-chairman Balbir Singh Rawat said that the district magistrate and the superintendent of police of the districts concerned should lodge FIRs against those found involved in embezzlement of Government funds whenever grafts come to their notice. “We hope, Chief Minister would take severe action against such persons”, he added.
Speaking of the ongoing stir by the ex-servicemen on one -rank one-pension issue, he accused the NDA Government of not acting on its pledge made during 2014 lok Sabha election campaigning that the demand would be fulfilled in one month. “However, the Uttarakhand government is sensitive vis-a-vis the problems of the ex -military men and para military personnel. It is trying with its limited scope to improve things for us, though things related to ex military servicemen are under the purview of defense ministry and those of ex- para military personnel are under the Union home ministry,” he added.
