In a bid to give a befitting reply to the Opposition, mainly the Bharatiya Janata Party which has been alleging the State Government led by Chief Minister Harish Rawat has taken a heavy debt and it has touched 26 billion crore, the CM said that it is normal procedure for a developing State. State always takes loan for the betterment of state like creation of infrastructure and other works.
He further said that 70 percent announcements, which were made during assembly election-2012, have been IJexecuted by the state government so far and would try to complete remaining announcements as well.
He asked the people if there was anything wrong in taking a loan for the betterment of the state. The opposition does apparently not want to see the development achieved during his tenure, which is why they have been raising such an issue for which otherwise there is nothing to worry about.
He said, "Even the Union Government takes loan from foreign agency then does it mean that the centre committed a blunder These days union ministers are arriving here like migratory birds which arrive here during conducive weather. They are now coming with the coming assembly election in view and many more of their ministers will come yet," he said.
The CM expressed these views while addressing the gathering on the occasion of 129th birth anniversary of Thakur Anukul Chandra here at Rudrapur in Udham Singh Nagar district on Sunday. He appealed to everyone that if you pay respect to your guru then your way will become easier automatically.
He further said that Uttarakhand has becomeIJ aIJ women- dominated state with efforts being continued to further empower the women in the state. "Currently we are disbursing pension to 7.25 lakh people and it will reach by 10 lakh in the year 2017. We are also increasing the pension amount as per the requirement of the people. We are developing state as model state where women are dominating in every field. To promote women self help group we have been running several schemes so that they would become independent," said Rawat while also reiterating that development will be distributed among the poor.
He also announced that
Gadarpur would be made into a complete Pargana, ITI college name would be kept after Thakur Anukul Chandra and special scholarship scheme would be introduced for Bengali community girls who have been enrolled in higher education.
He stressed that development should be pro public service otherwise the desired goal cannot be achieved. All are equally responsible for taking the state forward, he added.
