livid veterans seek action against Pak

Killing of five Indian soldiers by the Pakistani troops has been greeted with anger from veteran defence forces in the capital city.

The retired top brass strongly recommended to take up the issue on the international platform besides strengthening the vigilance along the line of Control.

After expressing concern over the massacre of the Indian soldiers, Dr Bimal Kant Nautiyal, President, Poorv Nav Sainik Samiti, Dehradun and member, executive committee, Dehradun Ex-Services league said: “The ex-servicemen are disturbed, shaken and demoralised due to the heinous and brutal killings of our army jawans by the rogue Pakistan army. How many more sacrifices the present Union Government demands to teach a befitting lesson to Pakistan. The Indian Army is all ready, prepared, equipped and battle worthy to thwart all nefarious designs and deeds of Pak army, whereas the present Union Government is incompetent, lethargic and indecisive,” he lamented, adding that the Union Government should  immediately quash the bilateral talks with its counterpart.

Dr Nautiyal expressed concern over the issue that the list of martyrs are increasing year after year and it is the high time now that the Union Government should take stringent action against Pakistan. He stressed that the Pakistani army is rogue and not in control of its Government and they have violated and crossed lOC 57 times, this year only. Echoing the same feelings, Brig KG Behl, former president, Dehradun Ex-Services league termed it heinous but cowardly act committed by Pakistan who do have the courage to come out openly and fight.

They stealthily cross over the boundary and run away before any one could see them. He said that every time they blame on infiltrators but can the infiltrators come without their knowledge or support. It is Pakistan who is trying to send across infiltrators to India to create a trouble. “Unless such strict action is taken, Pakistan will not learn any lesson and will continue with such heinous acts,” he said, adding that ex-servicemen propose to hold a rally shortly to express their resentment and anger and hope that Union Government will take suitable action in this regard.

He lamented that ex-servicemen are also agitated over the continuous intrusions by China and request the Government to get the boundary dispute settled soon so that Chinese dare not enter our territory claiming as their own and further said that government should introduce effective steps to amicably settled the China issue once for all.
