Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre has forecast the possibility of partly cloudy to generally cloudy sky and very light to light rain/snow at isolated places in higher reaches of Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh and Chamoli districts on March 4 and 5. The weather is expected to improve by March 6, said Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre director Anand Sharma on Monday.

Sharma said that the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 23.1°C and 06.8 °C respectively in Dehradun on Monday. The weather forecast for Dehradun on Tuesday is partly cloudy sky becoming generally cloudy sky towards evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 23°C and 08°C respectively on Tuesday in Dehradun.

The weather forecast for Uttarakhand on Tuesday and Wednesday is partly cloudy to generally cloudy sky and very light to light rain/snow at isolated places in higher reaches (05% area) of Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts while mainly clear to partly cloudy sky with mainly dry weather over the state on March 6. Sharma said that areas in higher altitudes like Joshimath, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Kailash and other places may receive light to moderate rain with snowfall on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sharma attributed this to western disturbances and induced cyclonic circulation over Haryana and neighbouring districts of Uttar Pradesh.
