Dehradun received light to moderate rainfall with thunder on Saturday evening. Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre has forecast very light to light rain/snow at isolated places in higher reaches of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh districts on Sunday. Dry weather has been forecast in the remaining parts of Uttarakhand on Sunday.
The Meteorological Centre director Anand Sharma attributed this to western disturbances and cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan and adjoining States of Uttarakhand. Doon residents witnessed cloudy skies in the morning and at noon while light rainfall was recorded during the evening which brought the temperature down by few degrees.Sharma said that the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 25.9 degree C and 18.0 degree C respectively in Dehradun on Saturday.
The weather forecast for Dehradun on Sunday is partly cloudy sky and thunder cloud development at isolated places. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 26 degree C and 17 degree C respectively on Sunday.
