The Government’s decision of increasing the FDI in insurance sector was opposed by the employee unions of the public sector life Insurance Company of India (lIC). The members of the All India Insurance Employees association gathered at the entrance of the divisional office here on Friday and raised slogans against the government’s decision on FDI. Addressing the gathering the Divisional President Nand lal Sharma said that the increase in FDI would ensure that the complete control of insurance companies comes in the hand of foreign partners.
The Divisional Secretary C P Naithani said that it is surprising that the BJP which opposed the plans to increase the FDI in Insurance sector when it was in opposition is now bringing the same bill in the parliament.
