In a firm step in the direction of setting up a new Ayurveda Medical College at Harrawala in Dehradun, the Union Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) has issued a letter of Intent (lOI) to the Uttarakhand Ayurved University. The University has applied for setting up an Ayurved medical college with 60 seats of BAMS.
The AYUSH Ministry has also issued lOI for opening six new PG courses in Kayachikitsa, Panchkarma, Shalya Tantram Shalakya tantra, Kaumarbhriyta and Strirog evum Prasuti Tantra at Gurukul campus of University.
Similarly nod for opening seven PG courses at Rishikul campus has also been given by the ministry. These courses are Bal Roga, Rachana Sharir, Kriya Sharir, Agad Tantra, Swasthavritta, Rog Nidan and Maulik Sidhant and Samhita.
In another reprieve to the university the ministry has also approved increase in number of seats in Under Graduate (UG) BAMS course of Gurukul from existing 50 to 100. Similarly in the Rishikul campus the seats have been increased from existing 60 to 100.
