During his first visit to India after assuming office as Nepal’s Prime Minister in August this year, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, visited yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali yog peeth and mega food park here on Sunday.

He had his only public meeting at Patanjali yog peeth. Prachanda said yoga guru Ramdev would act as a bridge between the two countries in strengthening the friendly relations and bringing economic prosperity.

landing at 8.56 am by a chopper, 15 minutes ahead of schedule, he inspected the Mega food park at village Padartha in luxor. After that he visited Patanjali yog peeth and addressed a felicitation function held in Phase 2 auditorium attended by students, teachers, staff members of Patanjali yog peeth, Indian bureaucrats, officials of district administration and security, IG Garhwal, amidst tight security.

Prachanda was accompanied by his wife Sita Dahal,  Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjeet Ray, Ministers from Nepal and personnel from India’s Ministry of External Affairs.

Ramdev announced that the first Mega food park of Patanjali yog peeth outside India shall be made in Nepal. Many more projects like University of Patanjali and Ayurvedic college are on the cards too, said the yoga guru. He said the Neoal PM’s visit was a step towards building social harmony, political stability and economic prosperity in Nepal and he wished the same for the Himalayan country which shared eternal bonds of friendship since ages.

High up on his agenda to cement bilateral ties, Prachanda said in his ceremonial address,  “It was a challenge and offer to come to India on the invitation of President Pranab Mukherjee and after his visit he was returning happily with hope to give new dimensions to the relations between the two countries.” He said his meeting with Modi will build new relations between the two countries and both the countries would work together for economic prosperity. He further added that Ramdev Baba would act as a bridge between the two countries in strengthening relations.

Prachanda highlighted the contribution of yoga guru Ramdev in conjoining yoga, spirituality and ayurved, giving a new direction to the age-old science. “We are trying to get political stability in Nepal and bring economic prosperity like India. By showing me personally his establishment and the massive store house of herbs which are procured from Nepal as well, Swami Ramdev has infused a force in me. His experiment of joining science with spirituality for the welfare of the people has touched me and I honour it,” he said.

Prachanda also said that he was born and brought up in Communist thinking to look towards all in the same manner. The Governments may keep on changing but the relation between the peoples amongst the two countries can never be split. Nepal and India are so closely knit with cultural ties, said Prachanda.

Earlier, Acharya Bal Krishna said that Nepal PM’s wife Sita Dahal had special bond with him like a mother. The natural resources of Nepal would not only benefit India but also bring prosperity to its native country by building of Mega food park consisting of processing units. The cultural bond which the countries shared was unceasing and ‘Akhand’, stronger than even the political bonds.

Earlier in Delhi, he met President Pranab Mukehrjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj  and other leaders and had wide-ranging talks on bilateral issues.
