'less defence products put factory staff in crisis'

While discussing the issues of protection of ordnance factory employees’ interest and redressal of their demands, general secretary Bahujan Karamchari Sangh, Ordnance factory, Indar Singh Singh accused the Centre  of ignoring the employee’s interest while handing over the factory products to the private sectors. Indian borders are tense with  the soldiers not having adequate ammunitions to protect the Indian boundaries. Handing over defence products to private sectors is thus dangerous, he said, adding that the Centre government has put 139 defence products in non- core category.

The numbers of defence products being reduced are landing the  factory employees  in crisis, he said.

He alleged that it is a conspiracy of the Centre to shut down the government- run factories where defence products are being made. According to Singh, the central government has implemented FDI in defence sectors and 222 private companies have been given license to make weapons and defence equipments. In addition, several items have been put on non-core category. Highlighting the local issues, Singh said that in factory estate, people are facing drinking water problems.

Others present on the occasion were Indar Singh, Umesh Kumar, Kailash Chandra, Man Prakash, Deeraj Shankhsawar, Rajveer Singh, Devendra Singh, Ompal and Anuj Kumar.
