A leopard entered a home in Khushalpur village which falls in the Kalsi forest division in Dehradun district on Tuesday morning. The occupants of the home were able to lock the big cat in the home. The forest department team reached the site on being informed about the leopard. The department personnel struggled for more than three hours to rescue the big cat.
The initial attempts to cage the leopard were not successful.
The department personnel then called the veterinarian working for the department. She tranquilised the big cat which was then taken out of the home.
The leopard was taken to the forest rest house in the range and administered a basic health check up.
The big cat is estimated to have been about one year old.
It was later released in the jungles of Timli range.
