To ensure that the intended beneficiaries get the benefits from the ongoing welfare schemes being executed by the district social welfare department, a legal literacy camp/multipurpose camp would be held at Deepmala Pagarani Public School at Shyampur in Rishikesh in Dehradun district on October 29, informed Dehradun District Magistrate SA Murugesan on Friday.

DM further said that the camp is being organised to provide cards under various schemes to the intended beneficiaries. “Applications from the elderly persons, widows and physically handicapped people would be received during the camp.

Apart from this, Aadhar cards for the new pensioners and disability certificates for the disabled would be prepared,” he said, adding that Rishikesh sub-divisional magistrate, district chief medical officer, Rishikesh tehsildar, district social welfare officer, district probation officer and block development officer, Doiwala have been directed to attend the camp.

He directed the officers concerned to ensure that the intended beneficiaries are identified during the camp so that there comes no impediment for them to avail  the welfare schemes launched by the Centre and the state government.

“Besides, the district legal services authority would provide free legal information to those who attend the camp,” DM said, adding that they are taking every possible measure to make the camp a success.
