Reacting to the Opposition BJP leaders’ comment on State Chief Minister Harish Rawat’s decision to probe the land transfer deals done since the inception of Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Harish Rawat’s media advisor Surendra Kumar said that the probe order was an imperative, given the fact that lands worth of Rs 100 crore had been allotted at Re 1 only. “Such charity is unacceptable involving Government lands,” he said.
Hitting out at the BJP leaders, he said that they had allotted lands to the commercial institutions. “The critical statements they have been making to highlight corruption against the State Government are sheer lies. Nobody, even their party workers, are believing them. As they have been doing pardafaash they should do the same regarding those leaders who are running commercial activities by grabbing Government lands. If they are reluctant to expose them we would do the same in the coming days,” he said.
Tearing more into the BJP leaders, Kumar said that the ten dissident leaders who are engaged in BJP pardafaash rallies are patrons of liquor syndicates. “They are now targeting the Brahmin community prodded by such syndicates. The BJP leaders are carping while the state is forging ahead in terms of rising per capita income,” he said.
