MlA Mussoorie Ganesh Joshi visited Suvakholi with the officials of electricity department for inspecting the area which would house the proposed 33KV substation. He said that the land for housing the substation has been earmarked and the substation when it comes up would help solve the problem of erratic electricity supply in the area.
“The area has been suffering from erratic electricity supply for a long time. There was thus a long pending demand for the 33 KV substation. Currently, the electricity is being supplied from the IT Park and the supply gets disrupted once it rains. But after the construction of the power plant, the electricity will run smoothly for many of the villages located in the area,” he said.
He also informed that the information of the construction of the substation had been given to the Vidhan Sabha under rule 300. “The work of constructing the sub-station is being started under the instruction of the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat,” he added.
The executive inspector Vijay Kumar Singh said that after the inspection of the land, a proposal would be submitted on the behalf of Gram Panchayat and after taking technical opinions from the senior officers, the construction of the sub-station would start.
