To counter Congress propaganda against the land acquisition Bill, the BJP would launch a 'janjaagaran abhiyan' (public awareness campaign) to educate the people on how the Bill is pro-farmer.
Ridiculing the Congress for launching broadside against the Centre on the Bill, Anil Baluni, BJP’s national spokesperson, said it is nothing but a part of a strategy to divert the public attention from the leadership crisis the party has been grappling with. “They are misleading the farmers and people with malicious propaganda,” he said during his ongoing Kumaon visit here on Tuesday.
The Bill has been framed with a vision to extend development to the rural areas, the BJP leader said, adding that Congress is just putting spanners in the way of its implementation. “Congress is against such inclusive model of development that Narendra Modi envisions,” he said.
Reiterating that the NDA Government is committed to overall development of the country, taking all on board, he cited the plan to provide housing facility to one and all in the country by 2022. “Along with it, the government has vowed to provide basic amenities to all.” he said.
The Centre has already launched a programme to ensure that the unprivileged people have their own bank accounts. Over 14 crore bank accounts have been opened so far under this process. Besides, for the first time, the farmers have been equipped with soil health cards, he added.
The BJP leader also slammed the state government for its failure on all fronts. Instead of reaching out to the people with a broad vision of development, the Chief Minister Harish Rawat is now busy attending wedding functions, he alleged.
