land bank to cut projects' delay in Champawat

Now the developmental projects will not remain pending for long due to delay in clearance of the forest land transfer matters in Champawat with the district administration, Champawat, creating a land bank in the district.

With a view to ensuring  timely clearance of the forest land transfer related matters for carrying out developmental projects, a land bank has been set up  in the district, said Ashok Joshi, SDM, Champawat. With the land bank coming into existence in the district now  there is sufficient land available with the revenue department to give it to the forest department concerned  in return for granting land by it (forest department)  for the developmental works, said the officials concerned of the  Champawat district administration. Therefore, all the departments including revenue, forest and other departments concerned are supposed to have proper coordination among themselves to carry out the developmental works across the district in a speedy manner,   added Joshi. However, the fact of the matter is that as the officials concerned informed, there are many a number of roads which are still lying pending at one stage or the other in the district due to delay  in completing necessary formalities.

For example, eight roads to be constructed by the Prime Minister Gram Sarak Yojana (PMGSY)’s  Champawat wing are lying pending in the district  due to delay in carrying out survey of land. So expressing its disappointment over delay in carrying out survey of land by the officials concerned for the aforesaid eight roads, the district administration Champawat has asked the officials concerned to complete the formalities as early as possible. Similarly, as the officials concerned of the PWD lohaghat( Champawat) said, though permission has been granted to carry out road construction work  on the Kakraali Gate- Thuligarh Road (the Tanakpur- Jauljibi Road) , survey of trees to be cut down is yet to be carried out on this stretch resulting in expediting the road construction works

In the meanwhile, as the Chamapawt district administration has said, after completing necessary formalities, proposals for the Rithkhal- Mantande Road, the Marorakhan-litibaans Road and the Dhunakot- Baramtora Road, have been sent to the Government  of  India  for final approval. At the same time the district administration Champawat has also asked the officials concerned to put all the roads  online and expedite pace of completing formalities like  joint survey and inspection of developmental works so that timely completion of projects could be ensured.
