lack of coordination among the different Government department was exposed when a recently constructed road was again dug up by the nodal agency for repairing the sewage system in the capital city.
However, department officials claimed that nodal agency always ask for the permission for digging road for completing the beneficiary projects in the given time frame.
After completing the work of laying the sewage lines near Vidhan Sabha, Chak Shah Nagar, Gorakhpur, Balbir Road, and adjoining areas, the road was recently constructed by the nodal agency. Shockingly, due to the lack of coordination among the Government agencies, the recently constructed roads were dug by the nodal agency that laid the sewage lines in the region.
The manholes on the road were opened during day time and were replaced again after completing the work. The pebbles around the manholes could be easily seen at the sight and also inviting accidents.
Besides, few manholes were not replaced properly thus causing bumper ride especially to the two wheelers.
It is also equally important to mention here is that the after missing the deadlines several times, the work of laying sewage lines were completed and the roads were repaired by the nodal agency in the last month.
However, few residents claim that repairing of roads would not be of much beneficial for the department and will damage before its stipulated time.
One of the department sources on the condition of anonymity told The Pioneer that the nodal agency always seek permission from the department before digging up the road for repairing roads.
He claimed that stern instructions are issued to carry repair works on war footing in order to avoid inconvenience to the residents.
He further told that nodal agencies are frequently asked to complete all the pending projects in the given time frame.
