DIG, Kumaon range, PS Sailal, has emphasised the need to take concrete steps to check crimes. He directed the police officials of the region to solve the grievances of the people on a priority basis while remaining vigilant on law and order. Reviewing the law and order of the region with the police officials concerned on Wednesday, Sailal asked the police officials to prepare a concrete work plan to prevent crimes, particularly those committed on the women and the children, and to clamp down heavily on the anti-social elements through strengthening the intelligence network. He also called for strengthening community policing. At the same time, he directed the police officials to maintain coordination among different security agencies so that anti-social activities could be curbed and proper vigil could be maintained.
